Delegate Anderson, a conservative Republican, represents the 51st District in the Virginia House of Delegates. The district includes Lake Ridge, Westridge, Nokesville, Brentsville, Kerrydale, McCoart, Woodbine, Old Bridge, Bethel, Chinn, and Rockledge. In the 2009 election Anderson beat his Democratic rival by less than 300 votes.
Since arriving in Richmond, Anderson has consistently voted with other members of the far right, including Robert G. (Bob) Marshall and L. Scott Lingamfelter. Also, in 2013 he voted against improving transportation in Virginia (HB 2313).
